You help clients adjust to changes and challenges in their lives, like illness, medical expenses, unemployment or the challenges of supporting a family as a single parent. You’ll advocate for your client and help them acquire government services and locate community resources, including healthcare and personal well-being. You are an essential worker who steps in to ensure children aren’t victims of abuse and raises awareness of possible mental health emergencies. As a social worker, you are a person who makes a difference.
In Texas, there are three levels of social work licensure established by the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners, including the Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker (LBSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
