Construction or Building Inspector

The rule enforcers, construction/building inspectors make sure all building codes and ordinances, zoning regulations and contract specifications are always followed.

Texas is always building. It’s no wonder there’s a need for more construction inspectors. As a construction or building inspector, you will review plans to ensure everything is up to code, from plumbing and electrical to zoning and local ordinances. You’re the person who verifies the elevation and alignment of structures. And if anything is off, you issue the violation notices and stop-work orders until the builder is in compliance.

Most construction and building inspectors have a high school diploma, construction experience and a certificate or associate’s degree in construction technology.
