If you would like to enter this field, you should have the ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern, have near vision, be sensitive to problems, have arm and hand steadiness, and demonstrate deductive reasoning.

Electrical and electronics repairers test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, use test equipment or software, and apply knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems. They maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests. They also set up and test industrial equipment to ensure that it functions properly.

In addition, they inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects, such as loose connections or frayed wires. They also install repaired equipment in various settings, such as industrial or military establishments.

Most occupations in this field require training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree.
