Logistics Technician

The expert organizer, a logistics technician manages warehouse facilities to make sure products reach customers on time.

Centrally located within the United States and home to DFW International Airport and George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Texas is a hub for distribution. And distribution means warehouses. Amazon, alone, continues to expand its fulfillment centers in Texas that employ more than 22,000 full-time people. Other corporate distribution centers include Best Buy, GameStop, Target, Walmart and UPS.

As a logistics technician, you create the databases that track, store and analyze inventory. You know everything that’s in stock, where it’s going and when it will arrive.

If you’re interested in a career in logistics, consider an associate’s in logistics technology or supply chain management. There are also certificate programs available.
